We started with a bucket and a few cloths

Home Shine is a family business. My wife and I started cleaning homes in Columbus fifteen years ago, just after we got married. We’ve raised our children in these neighborhoods ever since — the same schools, the same parks, the same streets we clean on today.

How it started

A bucket, a few cloths, and a list of neighbors to call. We worked one house at a time, and most of those first clients came from somebody telling somebody else. That’s still how most of them arrive.

Home Shine became a company in 2015, and has been BBB A+ accredited since 2017.

What changed, and what didn’t

The company outgrew what two people can clean in a week. Today your home is cleaned by vetted, insured cleaning professionals who work with Home Shine — experienced people who run their own cleaning work. We’re the part everything else runs through: your price, your schedule, the check after each visit, and one number to call when anything changes.

What didn’t change is who we answer to. Every home on the schedule is somebody we live near.

Why the price is on the site

Around here, most cleaning still gets quoted the same way: a form, a callback, and a number you only hear once someone is standing in your kitchen. That’s the part people tell us they dislike most, so we put it online. You get a range in about a minute, and the exact number is confirmed on a free in-home visit, with no obligation.

If something gets missed

Tell us within 24 hours and we send someone back to fix it, at no cost. It’s the shortest policy we have and the one we’re asked about most.

Our office is at 9032 Cotter Street in Lewis Center, in the middle of the communities we serve, and we clean homes throughout Central Ohio.
